APRIL SHOWERS BROUGHT US THE 4TH GEN TACOMA

Officially unveiled by Toyota at the Overland Expo West event on May 19th, the highly anticipated new generation Tacoma models made quite the splash to show goers who showed up in numbers despite the inclement weather.
 

A quick rundown on the Engine, Trans and Performance: Each are equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder. However, that power will come in several forms and coupled with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. It will be available in two- and four-wheel drive. The base model 228-hp turbo four is only found in the SR, and the rest of the lineup gets stronger variations with up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet. The iForce Max promotes 326 hp and 465 pound-feet through its hybrid setup. All models feature a body-on-frame construction, there will be two rear suspension offerings. The SR, SR5 extended cab, and the TRD PreRunner are equipped with leaf springs – the rest will kick it up a notch with coil springs. Top of the stack, Trailhunter and TRD Pro, sport underbody protection and aggressive 33-inch tires. What do you think so far? Join the conversation on our Instagram Post!
